Welcome to CommunityCrime.Watch. By accessing or using our website and its related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

1. The Service

CommunityCrime.Watch is a community-driven platform for sharing safety information. Our Service includes a Progressive Web App (PWA) which can be installed on supported devices for an enhanced experience.

Disclaimer: The Service is NOT a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, always contact your local emergency service immediately (e.g., 000 in Australia, 111 in NZ, 911 in the US). This platform is a community awareness tool and is not monitored in real-time by law enforcement.

2. Membership & Subscriptions

We are committed to community safety for everyone. As such, the core features of the Service (including viewing the live map, submitting reports, and receiving critical alerts for your home region) are provided free of charge to all verified "Resident" members and will always remain free.

We also offer optional, paid subscription plans which provide enhanced features. These subscriptions, along with sponsorships and donations, support the ongoing development, operation, and expansion of the platform. Subscriptions are managed through our secure third-party payment provider, Stripe.

3. User Accounts & Conduct

To use the Service, you must register for an account on a regional app instance and complete our verification process. You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree not to post content that is false, malicious, defamatory, illegal, or infringes on the privacy of others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice.

4. Limitation of Liability

The information on the Service is user-generated and provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information. Your use of the Service is at your own risk. We shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of this Service.

5. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the specific regional service you are accessing is based (e.g., the laws of Australia for the Australian service).
